St. Jude’s Ranch for Children came to life in 1967 in Boulder City, Nevada. It was the dream of Father Jack Adam. Today, St. Jude’s Ranch for Children is a non-profit, non-sectarian, fiscally responsible community focused on the needs of abused, abandoned, and neglected children of all races and faiths. Our family is dedicated to breaking the vicious cycles of child abuse and welfare dependency. Our safe home-like environment ensures unmatched healing services so that each child may achieve their full potential. St. Jude's provides a home and safe haven where children between the ages of 5 and 18 live in family style cottages. Each of the cottages contains 6 to 8 children and a loving pair of teaching cottage parents. When the children are able, they attend public schools. However, we have an on campus Homebound School for the children whose scholastic skills need improvement and for those children who are too traumatized by the abuse they have suffered. In all areas, we strive to give these troubled youngsters "normal" lives.
